Plain Language is not as Plain as You Think

The original title of this session was going to be “How to Overcome DEI Barriers and Take On the World Through the Power of Plain Language.”

That’s a nice, catchy title.

But it’s too busy.

Think about someone who would read that original title. Would someone with a 7th grade reading level understand the title? Could someone with English as their 2nd language understand this? Could it even be translated into another language as is?

This session is focused on plain language and the power of its simplicity.

We will go over the following in our session:

·      Define what plain language is

·      Learn about the benefits of using plain language

·      How plain language is utilized internationally

·      Where to find resources on plain language
